AYSO joined 4,000 soccer coaches and 10,000 attendees at the annual National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention Jan. 14-18 in Philadelphia, Pa. The convention is the largest annual gathering of soccer coaches in the world and featured live field demonstrations, lecture sessions and networking opportunities with soccer’s most prominent figures. The NSCAA convention also hosts both the Major League Soccer and National Women’s Soccer League’s college drafts.
AYSO has been part of this annual event for nearly 20 years to both share AYSO coaching expertise and learn from others about coaching innovations that help your child’s soccer development.
This year, AYSO educated hundreds of coaches and administrators about our Mission, Philosophies and what makes our National Coaching Program uniquely different.
Scott Snyder, AYSO's Technical Advisor of Player Development presented a session called “Get Real: A Realistic Approach to Player Development” which offered advice to coaches on improving the development of young players. Watch the video here.
At the Awards Banquet, AYSO alum Landon Donovan received the “Presidential Recognition Award” from none other than Brazilian soccer legend, Pele. Later in the night, AYSO presented the Robert W. Robinson High School Long Term Service Award to Coach Don Brock of Boston, Mass., who coached high school soccer for over 50 years.
AYSO is honored to have a partnership with the NSCAA and to share the quality programs of AYSO with soccer coaches across the U.S.
