With just six days left until #WearYourAYSO, it's the perfect time to remind your Region’s families, volunteers, sponsors and players to wear their AYSO gear to school, work, the playground and all other activities on this celebratory day. There are many creative ways to spread the word about #WearYourAYSO. To make it easier for you, here are four tips to get the word out in your community about this very special event!
1. Use the #WearYourAYSO toolkit: The #WearYourAYSO Toolkit has everything you need to publicize #WearYourAYSO in your community. The toolkit has a Facebook cover photo, Facebook post, Twitter header, Twitter post, email header, web banner, as well as tips for creating great ads and emails. Feel free to use some or all of the tools at your disposal to get the word out!
2. Share this post on all your social media platforms: Some Regions have very active social media accounts but even if you don’t, it’s important to spread the word online. We’ve made it easy for you Facebook users: Just follow this link and click “Share” to spread the word on your personal and Region’s Facebook accounts!
3. Send an email blast to your Region’s volunteers and families: Send an email to all of the families in your Region using an online service such as Constant Contact or Mail Chimp. Mail Chimp is free if you have less than 2,000 contacts and both services offer a nonprofit discount. Use the email header provided in the toolkit and you can even use the content from the Facebook post in the email.
4. Distribute flyers in public places: Design a simple flyer promoting #WearYourAYSO and share it in places such as public parks, supermarket windows, gyms and other heavily trafficked locations. Be sure to always ask permission first. You’d be surprised how many community members were at some point involved with AYSO!
Tell everyone in your Region, Area and Section to participate and stand united on this special day! We’ll also be giving out prizes every hour, from 4:00 a.m., PT through 11:00 p.m. PT.
It’s easy to participate in this wonderful event—just wear your AYSO gear on Sept. 15, take a photo of yourself and post it on your personal and Region’s Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram account with the hashtag #WearYourAYSO.
