Fit from the Sidelines grand prize winner Acacia Rizzo, from Region 884 in Antelope, Calif., received the trip of a lifetime, courtesy of Herbalife. Rizzo, her husband Darin and her two kids, Isabella and Alexandra, were flown to Seattle to watch the LA Galaxy take on the Seattle Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field earlier this month.
“This was the first time for anyone in our family to visit Seattle so we took in the sites while we were there,” said Rizzo. “We were treated to a fabulous suite to watch the match in and received passes to go down to the field during warm-ups.”
More than 1,000 participants spanning across hundreds of Regions took the Fit from the Sidelines 30 Day Step Challenge, walking over 25,000 miles. Through this program, AYSO parents and volunteers sent a strong message about the importance of physical fitness and were great role models for their kids and players! Did you know that children with active parents are more likely to become healthy, active adults?
“This is not only for myself,” Rizzo shared. “I want to set a great example for both of my children.”
In a span of just 30 days, Rizzo lost 16 pounds during the challenge. Even though the competition has ended, Rizzo hasn’t stopped working out and continues to work toward her goal of exceeding over 10,000 steps per day. She credits her two daughters as her motivation toward living a healthy and active life.
