This week, AYSO and FOX Sports announced a wide-ranging partnership, making FOX Sports and its family of networks a premier sponsor of AYSO and presenting partner of AYSO’s 50th Anniversary.
The new partnership brings together the best-known national youth soccer organization in the U.S. with FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2, FOX Soccer Plus, the FOX Sports Regional Networks, FOX Sports Radio and the Big Ten Network to further engage America’s young families in playing and watching soccer.
Also, as the presenting partner of AYSO’s 50th Anniversary, a new AYSO-FOX combo logo will now appear on all AYSO branded websites, printed collateral and more.
The announcement ran in news outlets nationwide as well as an eAlert to all AYSO volunteers and parents, but we wanted to share some behind-the-scenes information about this important partnership.
What does the FOX Sports partnership mean for AYSO?
It brings an unparalleled level of sports and soccer credibility to AYSO. FOX Sports is home of the NFL Super Bowl, the MLB World Series, college football, Champions League soccer and so much more. And starting in 2015, FOX Sports will be the home of the FIFA World Cups, including the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2018 and 2022 Men’s World Cup. AYSO is the only youth soccer partner of FOX Sports.
Why is FOX Sports interested in AYSO?
FOX Sports is committed to growing the number of players and spectators in American soccer. And they are passionate about the vision of AYSO: providing world-class soccer programs that enrich children’s lives. They see AYSO as an important partner to bring their own vision for American soccer to reality.
Where will the new co-branded 50th Anniversary AYSO-FOX Sports 1 logo appear?
FOX Sports 1 has become the presenting partner of the AYSO 50th Anniversary. The new logo will appear everywhere we can place it. It has already changed over on AYSO.org. But it will begin to replace the stand-alone AYSO 50th Anniversary logo in all possible locations including, but not limited to: the NAGM materials, coach, referee and management manuals, PLAYSOCCER Magazine, letterhead, Region Toolkit templates and more. The AYSO 50th Anniversary uniform logo, however, will continue as a stand-alone.
Can my Region use the AYSO50-FOX Sports 1 logo?
Yes! Your Region can use the new logo as much as it wishes.
Regions, Areas and Sections are extremely important to the success of the AYSO-FOX Sports partnership. Using the FOX Sports-50th Anniversary logo is the place to begin. If you currently have the 50th Anniversary logo in use, please visit the 50th Anniversary Toolkit. For any uses going forward, please use the new logo. The “Great Soccer Starts Here” registration ad and flyer templates (featuring Alex Morgan and Landon Donovan) will change to the new logo shortly and we encourage you to use them for all your 2014 registration marketing. This will communicate to parents AYSO’s soccer/sports credibility!
Do we have to change our 50th Anniversary logos?
We hope you’ll want to! Letting your parents and prospective parents know that your AYSO Region is affiliated with and been endorsed by one of the biggest sports media companies in the world is a powerful message. But you are not required to use the logo or change the ones you have.
Will AYSO TV commercials appear only on soccer programs?
One of the exciting aspects of this partnership is that AYSO TV spots and in-program messages will appear on a wide variety of sports programming. Young parents are watching baseball, football as well as soccer and they’ll see AYSO messages during their favorite programs.
