The Top 5 Most Common NAP Questions

“Why can’t we use a Regional debit card?” Using a Regional debit card violates the rule that every payment must be issued by check. The reason that all payments must be issued by check is that each payment must have two signatures (authorizations) and when a check is issued, the National Accounting Program (NAP) Account Code is visible on the bank statement. The NAP Account Code is used not only to produce your Region’s NAP Report, but also to file required monthly and annual business tax and license reports to both State and Federal agencies.

“How do I change the NAP Account coding on a check?” If you need to change the NAP Account coding on a check, simply email your NAP Representative and they will make that adjustment so that your Regions NAP Report comes out as accurate as possible.

“Can our Region accept credit card payments for registration fees?” Yes, we have paired up with a merchant services vendor, Corduro, to allow your Region to accept credit card payments through eAYSO as well as through their PayMobile application that can be used on any smart phone or tablet.

“How can our Region easily track our tournament teams?” AYSO now has NAP Online, a web-based accounting software system. This system allows your Region to set up as many sub-accounts or categories as your Region needs so that you’re able to track groups such as tournament teams. Check out the demo system here.

“Can we correct NAP Violations?” Yes, once you submit the additional information or backup for the violation, the violation will be updated.
