#GiveAYSO on #GivingTuesday 2016

GivingTuesday Save the Date

What is #GivingTuesday?

Every year, following the Thanksgiving turkey craze and the hustle and bustle of Black Friday is #GivingTuesday. It’s no coincidence that #GivingTuesday follows two of the biggest shopping days of the year—it’s designed that way to remind people of what the holiday season is really about—giving.

On #GivingTuesday, millions of Americans are encouraged to give back to their communities by volunteering at a local shelter, helping a person in need or donating to a notable cause.

For the fourth year in a row, AYSO will be participating in #GivingTuesday and we encourage our AYSO membership, both past and current, to #GiveAYSO on #GivingTuesday.

At AYSO, we strive to live by our Vision—providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children’s lives each and every day.  Therefore, 100% of the funds raised on #GivingTuesday go directly into AYSO’s Hugo Bustamante Playership Fund. This fund provides scholarships to families in need so that more children can play AYSO soccer.

Once all the #GivingTuesday donations are in, they are added to the Playership fund which is then distributed down to the local level to our Regions.

Since the inception of the Playership Fund in 2011, AYSO has been able to help over 5,700 kids play AYSO soccer.

Children who may not have had the opportunity to play in AYSO previously, now do because of the Hugo Bustamante Playership Fund. Which is why we encourage, those who can, to #GiveAYSO on #GivingTuesday.

What's the financial goal?

Last year, AYSO reached and surpassed our goal of $20,000. This year, we are asking for your help to reach our goal of $25,000.

Luckily, we have several sponsors—FOX Sports 1, Nesquik and Dole—that are willing to match donations throughout the day. We’ll also be competing for several prizes on Razoo, the platform our #GivingTuesday campaign is hosted on.

One of the prizes AYSO will try to compete for is the Power Hour Golden Ticket, six  of these prizes will be given to the nonprofit organization that receives the highest number of donors by the end of the hour or the highest unique donors.  Since AYSO will try to win these prizes, we highly encourage donations to be given in these hours (times are PT):

Most Dollars Raised Power Hour:
9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
11:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.

Most Unique Donors Power Hour:
5:00 a.m. -6:00 a.m.
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
8:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m.

However, if you miss those hours, don’t worry! You can still donate throughout the day, no matter what.

What if I can't donate on Nov. 29?

Don’t worry! If you’re particularly forgetful, you can schedule your donation in advance. At checkout, you can schedule your donation for #GivingTuesday, Nov. 29!
