Kim Roberts HedgpethKim Roberts Hedgpeth joined AYSO as National Executive Director in March 2013. As NED, Kim oversees the National Office staff and leads her team in working with the dedicated coaches, referees, volunteers and parents as AYSO celebrates the start of its next 50 years of great soccer.
Kim joined AYSO following her tenure as National Executive Director for the Los Angeles-based American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA). Kim originally joined the AFTRA staff in 1981 and served a wide variety of roles including Co-Director of the New York Local and Executive Director of AFTRA's San Francisco Local and the San Francisco Screen Actors' Guild.
Kim also oversaw collective bargaining agreements and policies, and was charged with strategic planning for AFTRA's National Union and its 30 local unions in the areas of news and broadcast station staff negotiations. Perhaps Kim's most notable AFTRA achievement was the negotiation and implementation of the 2012 merger of AFTRA and SAG. After the successful merger, she chose to step down from her executive role to pursue personal projects.
From 1998-2000, Kim served as Director of Labor and Employee Relations at Harvard University. As Director of Labor, Kim was responsible the university's labor and employment policies and oversaw the Disability Claims Unit. Following her time at Harvard, she served as Vice President of Human Resources of Safe Horizon, the nation's leading crime victim support and advocacy organization. Kim returned to AFTRA in 2001. Kim received her Bachelor of Arts in American Government from Harvard and her Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center. She is admitted to both the New York and California State Bar.
She currently resides in Los Angeles, Calif., with husband Gilbert W. Hedgpeth. Kim's niece and nephew play AYSO soccer in Region 1441 in Castaic, Calif.
