National Executive Director
Mike Hoyer joined the AYSO National Office team in 2015 after serving as Corporate Officer and member of the board of directors of Filtronics, Inc., for 21 years. Filtronics manufactures industrial and municipal water and waste water treatment equipment. Projects range from campgrounds and cabins to clean water for more than 500,000 homes across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The company’s main focus is portable drinking water production, especially for arsenic removal to provide customers with treatment solutions for compliance with U.S. EPA regulations.
Mike started at Filtronics in manufacturing and production and worked through various departments including engineering, sales, finance before moving onto manage operations and strategic planning. He also served on the independent board for the company’s retirement trust. His service to Filtronics took him to 49 states, eight Canadian provinces, seven Mexican states, far eastern Russia and the Philippines.
Mike’s AYSO experience began as a youth player, youth referee then as a founding member of Region 75 in Whittier, Calif. He returned to AYSO as a volunteer coach when his children began playing soccer in 2004. Coaching led to other volunteer opportunities including Regional Commissioner, Area Director, serving on a Regional Board and being elected to the volunteer National Board of Directors in 2013. Mike stepped down from the board of directors and his vice president position when brought on as AYSO's Deputy Executive Director.
During his volunteer time, Mike participated in pilot projects for AYSO for the finance, management and programs departments. He was a participant in the first class of Regional Commissioner Training in 2009.
