AYSO is proud to have three successful alumni on the U.S. Men’s National team roster.
Alejandro Bedoya started playing AYSO out of Region 644 in Weston, Florida and is now playing for FC Nantes in France. Bedoya made his first international start in 2010 in a friendly match against Brazil, but did not make the 23-man World Cup roster that year. This year, Alejandro will be joining the team as a midfielder. Click here for more about Alejandro.
Nick Rimando played AYSO in Southern California and continued playing soccer locally at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is currently the goalkeeper for MLS’ Real Salt Lake. This is the first World Cup that Nick will participate in. Click here for more about Nick.
Lastly, Brad Guzan was introduced to soccer through an AYSO Region in Illinois and now plays on the English Premier League club Aston Villa. Brad will also join the National team as a goalkeeper. Click here for more about Brad.
These three AYSO alumni, along with the 20 other players that make up the U.S. Men’s National team, will make the trip to Brazil next month for this summer’s World Cup.
The first match will be against Ghana on June 16, at 3:00 p.m., PT, at Estadio das Dunas in Natal, Brazil.
