AYSO Educates NSCAA Coaches at Annual Convention

AYSO joined 4,000 soccer coaches and 10,000 attendees at the annual National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention Jan. 14-18 in Philadelphia, Pa. The convention is the largest annual gathering of soccer coaches in the world and featured live field demonstrations, lecture sessions, networking opportunities and much more.

AYSO was able to educate hundreds of visitors about the AYSO Mission, Philosophies and what makes our National Coaching Program uniquely different.

Scott Snyder, AYSO's Technical Advisor of Player Development (video above) also presented a session called “Get Real: A Realistic Approach to Player Development” which offers advice for improving the development of young players.

At the Awards Banquet, AYSO was honored that AYSO alum Landon Donovan received the “Presidential Recognition Award” from none other than Pele. Later in the night, AYSO gave out the “Robert W. Robinson High School Long Term Service Award.” This year’s award went to Don Brock of Boston, Mass. who coached high school soccer for over 50 years.
