It's official! The Grand Prize Winner of AYSO's Kerrygold Grilled Cheese Recipe contest is Jeff Bovay from Region 85 in Silverado, Calif.
Jeff created Prime Time, a grilled cheese sandwich with smoked bacon ends and pepperoncini, with a mac and cheese dipping sauce. Check out Jeff (shown above) enjoying his sandwich at The Grilled Cheese Truck! His sandwich was featured on the truck for one week!
This grilled cheese is very easy to make and kids just love it. First, take enriched white burger buns and chop pepperoncini. Then, add in two slices of Skellig Kerrygold cheddar cheese, chopped crisp bacon ends and some Kerrygold Butter. Invert and butter the buns and cover the bun with bacon bits, pepperoncini and cheese. Grill on both sides until golden brown.
To make the Mac n Cheese sauce, mix and blend 1/2 T melted butter, 1/8 cup diced onions, 1/2 T flour, 2/3 cup milk and 8 oz of Kerrygold Skellig melted cheddar cheese.
