December has been an exciting time to be an American soccer fan. AYSO alum Landon Donovan ended his career on top by leading the LA Galaxy to a 2-1 victory against the New England Revolution in the MLS Cup. AYSO alum Gyasi Zardes also made a huge impact giving the Galaxy a lead in the 52nd minute. Just these two alumni confirm that great soccer really does start in AYSO.
The same weekend as the MLS Cup, the U.S. Women’s National Team was drawn into the FIFA Women’s World Cup “group of death” and will face powerhouses Sweden, Australia and Nigeria in Group D. Your families will be able to tune into all of the World Cup action on FOX Sports 1 starting June 6, 2015.
"We got the toughest countries in all of the pots," AYSO alum Alex Morgan said on Fox Sports 1. "So it's definitely the group of death. You can't count out any team."
As AYSO alumni, there isn’t a better time to start watching professional soccer with your family and friends! So many big-name players, such as Alex Morgan, Alejandro Bedoya and Brad Guzan all got their start with AYSO, so why not watch, support and be entertained by alumni, like you! If you’ve got kiddos at home, watch more professional soccer with them too. After all, the more young soccer players watch the beautiful game, the better soccer players they will become.
