Berriz succeeds Mike Wade, who stepped down at the conclusion of his term after serving four years as National President.

Herbalife Super Soccer Shake Wins Contest

Dimitris Buterakos , 11, from Torrance, Calif., won the Herbalife Shake It Up contest with his "Herbalife Super Soccer Shake" during the 2010 AYSO National Games player celebration carnival yesterday in West Palm Beach, Fla. Buterakos, along with the two other finalists, Aiden Camisa, 6, and Brady McDougal, 12, were flown to West Palm Beach by Herbalife and made their shakes on stage. A panel of five judges did a "blind" taste test to pick the winner.

AYSO Scores at World Cup 2010

Former AYSO players led the attack for the USA's 2-2 comeback on Friday, June 18 against Slovenia in Johannesburg, South Africa. Landon Donovan scored the first U.S. goal in the World Cup and second half substitutions, Maurice Edu and Benny Feilhaber, added some much needed attack and pace. Edu even found the back of the net, but unfortunately the referee disallowed the goal.
AYSO Players In TIME Photoshoot

The Hollywood Hurricanes, an AYSO U-12 girl's team out of Los Angeles, Calif., were the stars in a World Cup-related photo shoot with TIME Magazine earlier this month. TIME sent out a photographer to the girls practice to catch them training, practicing and having an all around good time. The Hurricanes made the cut and their photo is featured in the June 14 issue. The photo was a part of a bigger piece on the state of youth soccer in the U.S. Look for the AYSO logos on their uniforms!
