Kerrygold, the premium brand of cheeses and butters made with milk of Ireland’s grass-fed cows, has signed a one-year sponsorship with AYSO. The sponsorship was implemented through Kerrygold’s marketing organization, the Irish Dairy Board.
“We are very excited to have Kerrygold on board and hope it’s the beginning of a long relationship,” said Lynn Berling-Manuel, AYSO’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Kerrygold made its name in culinary circles for products of exceptional quality, but these delicious dairy products can contribute to our youth soccer players’ nutritional regimen, as well.”
Roisin Hennerty, President of the Irish Dairy Board, Inc., expressed, “We are delighted to partner with AYSO to help nurture kids and build strong communities. With three kids in the AYSO program, I see the value that youth soccer brings to the personal growth and development of children from diverse backgrounds, as they learn to work and play together as a team.”
Kerrygold AYSO Activities and Ireland Prize
Kerrygold’s multi-platform AYSO sponsorship will include live event sampling, content, social media, and online and print promotional components, including features in AYSO’s home-delivered magazine, PLAYSOCCER.
The Kerrygold sponsorship will be introduced to over 500,000 AYSO players and their families in early March. A cartoon soccer-playing Irish cow will make her spring season debut in AYSO and will engage with AYSO’s members and introduce her new brother or sister, to be born in March. She will also announce a contest to name the new baby cow. The prize for the winning name is a journey to Ireland for a family of four as a guest of Kerrygold.
Kerrygold as Soccer Food
Soccer parents looking for wholesome foods for their soccer kids will find convenient Kerrygold cheeses, available at most supermarkets around the U.S. They are perfect for a high-protein snack with fruit and crackers, as a flavorful ingredient in kid-pleasing family dinners, or in a faultless grilled cheese sandwich. Both regular and reduced fat cheese types are included in the AYSO sponsorship. Kerrygold butter, in unsalted, salted, reduced fat and garlic & herb varieties, also is included.
Kerrygold butters and cheeses boast a natural gold color due to the beta-carotene in the rich, fertile Irish grass the cows consume. The year-round temperate weather and moisture-bearing southwesterly winds create a natural smorgasbord of rolling green pastures that dominate the Irish countryside. Kerrygold relies on cooperatives of small Irish dairy farmers and cooperative creameries with centuries of natural cheese-making traditions to turn the rich, sweet milk into some of the best-tasting cheeses and butters in the world.
