AYSO National Coach John Ouellette Receives NSCAA Honor

AYSO National Coach John Ouellette has received a Letter of Commendation from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA) 2011 convention in Baltimore, Md., in recognition of his service to the Association and his contributions and achievements in soccer.

John has been a coach and educator with AYSO for over 20 years, and is a huge proponent of developmentally based, age-specific training programs for youth players. He has championed the acceptance of small-sided play, fun play development and "kids first" attention to the art of coaching soccer. His goal is to make every AYSO coach and parent aware of the psychological, emotional and physicals needs of their children.

Brian Crossman, chair of the NSCAA's Ethics Committee, Joe Machnik, former assistant to the Deputy Commissioner for Major League Soccer and Larry Walters, winning soccer coach for the La Cueva High School boys' team, were also recognized with Letters of Commendation at the convention.
