On Monday August 24, Sony improved your chances of attending a 2010 World Cup match in South Africa by launching the Shoot for FIFA World CupTM photo and video contest (www.sony.com/fifa).
Four grand prize winners will receive an all inclusive trip to the 2010 FIFA World CupTM in South Africa to see their 13-17 year old take the pitch and act as an official FIFA Flag Bearer at one of the 2010 World Cup matches. Sony cameras, camcorders and digital SLR cameras will also be awarded to secondary winners.
The contest is open to any person 18 years of age or older. Simply visit www.sony.com/fifa and upload your soccer-related photos and or videos. Then, in late October, a panel of judges will choose winners in four categories based on a combination of criteria including depiction of soccer content, emotional intensity and technical execution.
Visitors to the site are greeted by former U.S. National Team superstar Brian McBride. Having represented the National Team in three previous World Cup tournaments, McBride is the perfect person to act as the face of the promotion and to oversee the contest judging.
Sony designed this contest to showcase their partnership with FIFA and to display their high-definition cameras and camcorders. Ron Greitzer, Promotions Manager for Sony Style says, "All of us here at Sony are very excited about this contest and awarding these once-in-a-lifetime trips. We are logging onto the site every day to see the newest photos and videos, and are looking forward to announcing the winners in October."
Are you going to be one of the lucky winners? As Brian McBride says, "Keep those cameras shooting and camcorders rolling and remember...it's easy to get the best shot with Sony!"
