Davis Resigns; Tobin Appointed Interim NED

The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) announced today the resignation of AYSO National Executive Director Rick Davis, effective May 11, 2010. Beginning immediately, Thomas Tobin is the Interim National Executive Director.

In a letter to the AYSO National Board of Directors and Executive Membership, Rick Davis stated, “After much thought and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to tender my resignation as Executive Director of the American Youth Soccer Organization.” In his letter, Rick went on to state, “I leave AYSO with fond memories and knowledge of the truly positive impact this organization has had and will continue to have on the lives of millions of children, families and communities across the United States and Caribbean. I do so with the hope and belief that in some part, I have been able to contribute.”

Rick Davis also shared that, “The past seven years as a member of the National Support & Training Center staff has been a wonderful experience for me. I have had the opportunity to work with both dedicated, talented staff members and volunteers, all devoutly committed to furthering the vision of the organization by enriching children’s lives.”

AYSO President Mike Wade accepted Rick’s resignation, stating that “AYSO is appreciative of all Rick Davis has given AYSO and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
