"Go Green" With eSign
eSign is a great way for your Region to "go green"! Regions can ask volunteers to print only one copy of their volunteer form (instead of two) and present it to the Region with a photo I.D.
This copy will enable the Region to confirm the identity of the volunteer with a U.S. government-issued photo I.D. and allow for reference checks on all brand new volunteers.
Once these steps are taken, the eSigned form copies can be shredded and destroyed. Likewise, many Regions ask parents to print one copy of their Player Registration forms so that coaches can have a signed form for emergency medical treatment authorization.
Since eSigned volunteer forms do not have to be sent to the Safe Haven Department at the National Office, Regions will save on shipping fees and trips to the post office.
Since eSigned volunteer forms do not have to be sent to the Safe Haven Department at the National Office, Regions will save on shipping fees and trips to the post office. The National Safe Haven office will conduct registered sex offender checks on all new applicants, national criminal background checks for all flagged volunteers and Social Security number verifications at the beginning of every week in order to expedite results. Targeted background checks have already begun for the 2012 registered volunteers.
