AYSO Announces Procedures Regarding Paying for Services
The AYSO National Office has developed Directives and Procedures to assist Sections, Areas and Regions when paying referees, trainers, auditors, field maintenance and others for their services.
The tools provided will help AYSO entities to comply with Federal and State laws when contracting for services, including some that are traditionally provided by AYSO volunteers.
AYSO remains committed to the belief that volunteers deliver a high-quality experience for their participants; however, due to a scarcity of volunteers in many communities, the National Board of Directors (NBOD) modified AYSO National Policy Statement 2.5 to allow AYSO entities some flexibility in paying for services when emergency measures are needed in order for an entity to remain viable. This ensures that quality AYSO programs are still delivered to our players and their families.
