AYSO’s Lynn Berling-Manuel Advisor for New Tournament Association
Lynn Berling-Manuel, AYSO’s Chief Marketing Officer, has been announced as a member of the National Association of Tournament Directors’ (NATD) Advisory Board. The NATD is the first professional association for Tournament Directors of all sports, and as a member of the NATD advisory team, Berling-Manuel will represent soccer and contribute to the Association’s membership by sharing her experience and knowledge.
“I am excited to fulfill my role on the NATD Sports Advisory Board to help continue the growth of the sports industry as a whole,” said Berling-Manuel. “Tournaments are a vital component of every sport and a unique athlete and fan experience. Now with its own Association that brings together Tournament Directors, sports professionals and companies of all sports and allows them to communicate under a single umbrella, we can help change the way business and planning is done throughout the industry.”
Berling-Manuel, who was recently inducted into the California North Soccer Hall of Fame, has over 30 years of experience in the soccer media and marketing industry, including her current position as CMO of AYSO. With nearly 600,000 players, AYSO is the largest single-entity youth soccer organization in the U.S.
She currently serves on the Board of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and is a past board member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. Before joining AYSO, Berling-Manuel was CEO of Soccer America Communications LLC, publishers of Soccer America Magazine and SoccerAmerica.com, where she developed the Soccer America Tournament Expo, the first national conference for Tournament Directors, suppliers and sponsors.
“I am very pleased to announce that Lynn is continuing her leadership and impressive influence on the sport of soccer by becoming a part of the NATD Sports Advisory Board,” said Louise Waxler, President/CEO of NATD. “Her notable background generates from a long list of involvement within the U.S. soccer community, one that I know our members will find truly beneficial.”
