Get Your Volunteer Hours "Paid" For!

Many companies around the U.S. will donate money to organizations where employees volunteer. With the help of AYSO volunteer Rand Potter, AYSO has come up with a list of companies that "pay" employees for volunteer hours.

Rand signed up with his former employer Intel to track and get credit for his AYSO volunteer hours. All he had to do was fill out a form with the number of hours he volunteered. Intel had to verify that AYSO was a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.

"Once the AYSO account was setup with Intel, the process was quite simple. All I had to do was go to the website, fill in the number of hours I volunteer and AYSO gets a check," Rand explained. He donated his paid hours last year to the Hugo Bustamante AYSO Playership Fund during the National Annual General Meeting (NAGM) in May.

Even if your company isn't on the list, check with your Human Resources department to find out if your company offers this option and let us know!
