3 Keys to Having a Smooth Season
AYSO has dozens of Regions that have earned a unique gold star: they have a steady increase of players and volunteers in their program each year.
We've collected tips and best practices from these growing Regions. This week's tips: 3 Keys to Having a Smooth Season
1. Maintain communication with parents.
This applies to answering phone calls and emails, as well as consistent communication through a Region newsletter, social media outlets, Region website updates and more. Parents and families appreciate feeling as though they’re “in the loop”.
2. Make sure your coaches are trained.
AYSO coaches have the most direct contact with your players, so it’s vital that they are properly trained for their age-division. “Coaches especially have to know what they are doing at practices,” shared one RC.
3. Make it a team effort.
“Having a participatory board is important,” said another RC. The goal of a smooth, fun season is a team goal – not just the RC’s. Encourage input, feedback and participation from your Region Board.
