Put the "Fun" in Region Fundraising
Region fundraising is a great opportunity to bolster your Region's budget while including your Region's players, families and volunteers in on the fun. RC Kate Echavarria from Region 56 in Huntington Beach, Calif., shared with The Commish
how her Region celebrates the start of a new season with a fundraiser:
"Fundraiser has the most basic word 'fun' in it and our Region has a lot of fun with our annual Soccer Fest! The biggest part of Soccer Fest is our silent auction. It is mandatory for every team to provide a basket to auction off. Usually, the team will pick a parent to do the basket. For example, last year we had a parent that owned a Karate Shop and donated items and karate lessons - the basket sold for $200! Our silent auction is always a success and it usually brings in about $7,000 a season."
