Make Sure Your Fields Are Safe
Tips on Field Safety
Field Coordinators, referees and coaches should be the last line of defense when dealing with field safety. Everyone should be involved in making sure the fields are safe for AYSO players. Make sure everyone involved in practice and game days knows what to look for in order to keep the fields free from safety hazards.
Foreign objects on the field of play like rocks, broken glass, trash and metal objects, which can effect player and referee footing on the field as well as cause cuts, bruises and other injuries on impact.
Sprinkler heads or any other protruding hazards.
Gopher holes, large divots or bumps, which can cause ankle injuries or falls.
Mud or water puddles.
