Get Started
Starting a local AYSO program is fun and exciting. With the help of the professional AYSO National Support & Training Center (NSTC) staff plus amazing local volunteers just like you, it's easy!
Where to start:
-
Use the NSTC's Development Department as a resource: We are here to assist you in developing a program as well as support you once your Region is up and kicking.
-
Please contact Pete MacPhail, AYSO Development Manager, at petemacphail@ayso.org or (310) 848-5653 with questions or to ask for help.
What you will need:
-
Five to seven additional volunteers - use friends and family to help you, these people will help support your efforts and participate on the new Region Board.
-
Kids to be transformed into players!
-
Fields to play on, think big but small spaces also work.
What happens next:
-
Fill out a Pilot Application complete with volunteer forms for all Region Board members.
Pilot Application
-
The National Board of Directors will be asked to approve your application by your local volunteer Area Director (AD) and Section Director (SD).
-
A "New Regional Commissioner Kit" and "Pilot Pack" will be shipped to you and will include necessary materials for your management positions and first player registration.
-
Your local volunteer AD will contact you directly, for a quick 'RC Orientation.' The "AD" will help you develop a local calendar & plan for when your Region will hold player registration, advertise for players and parents, schedule training for coaches & referees (among other positions needing training), and set your first season's playing dates!
-
Sign them up, get them trained and your Region is ready to start playing!
